Current project called "Melrose Energy Center" is to be on plot 56 1-0-9-0 you can find on the Goochland website, link below. This is on Old Mill Road, a residential street off Cardwell Road. However, this is the cleared 50 acres of a much bigger plot of land that is subdivided into 11 parcels, totaling almost 200 acres all owned by LLCs and Trusts set up by a family.

 

The stage one plan is for East Point Energy to have a 35 year lease with options for extensions. East Point Energy builds these projects and their track record reveals they quickly sell to power companies like Dominion who needs more battery storage facilities. This will be profitable venture for the land owners and it is not a stretch to think that they are starting with the cleared land and it will only be easier to get further certificates to expand once this has been supplied. The land owners do not live in Goochland. If this goes through, there is not much to stop them from developing the rest of the land as it will be extremely profitable. This is a slippery slope that will change the Cardwell corridor permanently.

Not to mention it could be catastrophic to the whole area if it sets fire.
